Biography
Dr. Choong-Min Kang is an associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University Stanislaus. Since he received his Ph.D. in the field of Microbiology from University of California at Davis, he has been doing research and teaching on Bacterial Genetics and Physiology. For his Ph.D. work, he studied how Bacillus subtilis senses and responds to the environmental changes. After his Ph.D., he moved to Children’s Hospital Boston to study the signal transduction pathway of eukaryotic-type kinases in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. At CSU Stanislaus, he expands his research to beneficial microorganisms such as Lactobacillus helveticus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
